While the statistics below are helpful to review, keep in mind that the value of our giveaway promotion is much more than the view and click numbers.

Each giveaway entrant we send your way is also doing what you’re asking in exchange for entries.

One person may become a Twitter follower; send out a tweet about your giveaway; subscribe to your email list; follow you on Instagram; subscribe to your YouTube channel; and leave a comment on your website all from one click. What they do depends on how you structure your giveaway.

The combined value in one view/click is extraordinary and immeasurable.

Giveaway listing performance variables

Your level of promotion ordered, length of time listed on Giveaway Promote, entry requirements, location eligibility, selected listing image and the clarity of your title/description wording will have a direct effect on your giveaway promotion campaign results. No two giveaways are the same.

Reasons that a giveaway may see more views/clicks:

  • More promotion ordered
  • Submitted early = Giveaway listed for a longer period of time
  • High value/appeal prize: electronics, cash or gift cards, etc.
  • Giveaway is open Worldwide
  • Easy entry requirements

Generally, these are the giveaways that will see an average CPV/CPC at the lower end of the range.

Reasons that a giveaway may see fewer views/clicks:

  • Less promotion ordered
  • Submitted last minute = Giveaway listed for a short period of time
  • Niche specific prize: niche specific or genre specific books, for example
  • Low value/appeal prize: ebooks, DVDs, apps, downloads, coupons, under $20 in value, location specific prizes, unknown brands, etc.
  • Giveaway has limited eligibility. Open to Canada only or UK only, for example
  • High barrier to entry. Requiring entrants to register for an account, create an app, write an article, refer friends, download an app, play a game, etc.

Generally, these are the giveaways that will see an average CPV/CPC at the higher end of the range.

Examples:

  • If your giveaway is listed for two months, it will see more views than if it were listed for three days.
  • If your giveaway is open worldwide, it will see more views than if it was open to Canada only (or US only, UK only, etc.).
  • If your giveaway has a prize with a broad appeal (gift card, cash, electronics), it will see more views than a limited appeal or low value prize (ebooks, under $10 value, online courses or downloads, etc.).
  • If your giveaway is easy to enter, it will see more views than one that requires entrants to register for an account, make a video, refer the most friends, etc.

Impressive numbers aren’t everything. It’s often a better idea to target quality over quantity. The more specific and targeted your prize is, the more targeted your leads will be.

If you are giving away a niche book with the goal of attracting readers; fewer, hyper-targeted entrants are going to be of much greater value to you than a higher quantity of general entrants.
